Gerard Cuartero, 'Detalles'

Spanish artist Gerard Cuartero was born in Barcelona, where he lives and works.

In his practice, Gerard Cuartero uses different media such as photography, text, drawings and installation in order to challenge the concept of everyday life planning, trying to establish relationships between planned and unexpected things with the aim of mapping the tensions that arise when the thought is taken to its limits.
His works visualize the traces of what happens in everyday situations to reach the singularity of the routine and find the unexpected in what was planned in the first place.

Gerard Cuartero studied Architecture at Ramon Llull University and MFA in Fine Arts at University of Barcelona. He has participated in several exhibitions, including Arts Santa Mònica, Barcelona; BAC Festival, CCCB, Barcelona; Extra-barri, Lleida; Carart Festival, Delft; Niu Galery, Barcelona and Artivistic Festival, Montréal . Forthcoming shows include a residency at Space Beam, Incheon (South Korea) and the 10th Amposta Biennial.
