‘Private/Public’ is a visual art exhibition exploring the concept of domestic space
in gallery context, including twelve award-winning artists, Hannah Forbes Black, Ting-Ting Cheng, Yin-Hua Chu, Sarah Churlish, Gerard Cuartero, Milena Galli, Denise Hickey, Steve Hines, Sule Kemanci, Katherine Lubar, Clare Motte and Chong Boon Pok, using various mediums to turn the gallery space into domestic, oscillating between private and public.

I've received a very high volume and quality of submissions, and could only select the artists whose work was most closely related to our original proposal.

Sorry for the artists who wasn't selected, wish we will have a chance to collaborate on another project in the future.

Call for artist

Private/Public is a group exhibition scrutinizing the idea of domestic place in our everyday life.

How does the domestic place mean to us? And what is the relationship between them?
How does it reflect our personal history and everyday routine?
And how do artists reveal the residents by exploring the space?
Furthermore, when the private becomes public in the contemporary art exhibition, what has been changed?

The open call is for all the artists from any age or country who has a project exploring the idea of domestic place, no matter what medium it is, could be painting, photography, video, sculpture, installation, performance....etc.

2. description of the art works (including size and the equipment needed)
